Marriner’s birthday was very fun. He enjoyed all his presents and his cake that he saw a few months ago at the bakery and wanted so badly that he never forgot about it. He is such a cutie, 100% daddy’s boy and really funny. Marriner still loves cars and trains and is ALWAYS playing/sleeping/eating/bathing/ with them. He also likes playing soccer, basketball, playing outside and with his brother and sisters. Love this kid!!
I LOVE soccer season. Since my whole life has always revolved around the love of sports, watching, playing, talking, what have you. I always enjoy it when my kids play any sport. I’m so lucky that my tomboy ways have been passed on to my daughters!! Who are all very athletic and love playing Soccer. And since my boys and husband love sports too, it’s a win, win, win for us. Last Saturday was warm, sunny and beautiful weather and as I sat on a little hill watching Tanner killing it on the soccer field I thought there is no place I’d rather be than with my family on this hill, all of us cheering on Tanner. I felt very content. Plus watching Aftyn play soccer has got to be the cutest thing I have ever seen. IT’s awesome!! But I feel bad for Kaylynn after playing on a team in Washington that was really, really good she now plays with girls who mostly don’t care, they stand around a lot. It’s very frustrating to her. But maybe next time it will be better.
Well the last month was really, really horrible for me. I’m not sure exactly why I was sucked back into all the wretchedness but I have some theories. I’m not going to go into all of that, I just don’t feel like it. I wanted to share something else so I don’t forget it. So like I said the last 4-5 weeks have been pretty hard again. The kids have really been talking a lot about Xander lately, I wish Xander was here for this, or I wish Xander was here for that. Tanner one day was giving Marriner a really big hug and he turns to me and says “Mom, you know the only thing that’s missing from this brother hug?…Xander” Just stuff like that. Anyway, one day it was just me and Aftyn and Marriner at home and we were playing pirates. When Aftyn says “Mom, I wish Xander could play pirates with us.” “Me too,” I say. Then she stops looks me right in the eye and says “but he has work to do mom, IMPORTANT work.” Then she turns and starts playing again. It was like it was a little message just for me, and I do truly know that, sometimes it just doesn’t help as much as at other times. I just miss him. But it did help me kind of snap out of the funk I was in, so I’m grateful for that.
The builder is providing sprinkles and grass in our front yard. BUT our yard is really sloped so we are having someone build us a rock retaining wall. They are taking dirt from our backyard to build up the front yard. I really like it so far.
Our BIL Jonaton turned 30 this month so we got to go to yummy Brazilian food and bowling. IT was supa fun.
How did our oldest get so old?? Only one year left until young women that is just so weird to me. Kaylynn at 11 reminds me so much of myself it is hilarious. She is 5’7” and weighs about 105. She loves soccer and is really good at it. She doesn’t like girly stuff and never has. She has to have her hair pulled back from her face all the time, so lots of pony tails. All that stuff reminds me of me but stuff that is all her is she is super talented at art that girl can draw, she is also a very creative writer and is good at piano. We still haven’t found her a new teacher since moving here, it’s starting to worry me. She also loves BYU hence the cake, Kaylynn got a dwarf hamster for her birthday that she named smoke. She is such a good girl and an awesome helper. I love that girl!!
