Vancouver Temple Open House

On Saturday we went up to the Vancouver, BC temple open house.  That is a time when anyone can go in the temple and take a tour member or non-member.  After it is dedicated on May 2nd then only worthy members will be able to enter.  It is such a beautiful small temple.  What a blessing it will be to have a temple so close to us.  It will be about a 40-50 min drive (depending the border crossing).  The kids loved going and seeing what the temple is like on the inside.  Aftyn and Tanner had a harder time being reverent but they still did pretty good. Unfortunately we didn’t take pictures…why I have no idea just dropped the ball on that one.   We did have the camera but it’ll have to wait until next trip.  You can check out other photos online here.

FHE at the BEACH

Last night we decided the weather was good enough that we would take the kids to the beach for family night activity.  We all had a good time looking for crabs, hermit crabs, and other sea life.

Aftyn was smelling the dandelion a little to closely.  Notice the yellow nose and lip.

Kaylynn’s 8th birthday!

Kaylynn turned 8 on April 15th.  I can’t believe that she is 8!  She is such a great girl.  She is a huge help around the house and often does things without being told. She loves sports, piano, art and girl scouts. And she loves reading Harry Potter books.  I’m so grateful that we have her.

Kaylynn requested a softball field cake…

Tanner’s Birthday

Tanner turned 4 on April 9th and he had his first birthday party.  I think he had a great time.  Cameron also took half the day off so we went swimming (Yes, even me but no you aren't going to see my 36 week pregnant self in a swimming suit) and then headed to the movies to see How To Train Your Dragon.  We had a great time!

Tanner’s Spiderman cake. I will spare you the details but this cake gave me fits for lots of different reasons.

New Dresses

So here is another project I was working on over Spring Break.  These dresses were a little harder than the skirts I made because I didn’t have a pattern.  But I thought they turned out fine in the end.

Easter

We had a great Easter weekend just listening to conference and enjoying some family time. I think Kaylynn said it best in her journal (Easter Sunday this is what she wrote) “I love Easter not because of all the goodies but because we remember Jesus' sacrifice.”
