In the words of Elizabeth Bennett
“I would not wish you back again”
My last grandparent (my dad’s dad) passed away last Sunday, so this weekend we went to his funeral in Southern Utah. He was buried in Tropic where he and my grandma started out and where most of their family is from. The cemetery was filled with Bybees I would really like to go back when it’s warmer and take a better look around. Out of my 4 grandparents his was the only funeral I was able to go to and I’m so glad that we did. I was a little nervous because it was the first funeral I have been too, since Xander’s and I wasn’t sure how I would handle it. It was sad of course but I just kept telling myself how happy he would be to see his wife and son again and that made it easier. They had a grave side service which included his military rites. I loved the military part it made me so proud of my grandpa serving his country in the Korean war. It was also nice to see a lot of my cousins again, some whom I haven’t seen in way too many years.
My Grandpa was buried on the door step of Bryce Canyon so of course we looked around a little while we were there. BUT it was FREEZING the temp ranged from –10 to 11 degrees so we didn’t hang around outside much.
We took the kids sledding yesterday and they all loved it. We didn’t have much of an opportunity to go sledding in Washington, but the conditions were just perfect yesterday. With their proper winter clothes still in storage they got very cold rather quickly but we all still had a nice time.
This Christmas was bitter sweet for our family, Cam and I had a hard time but the kids enjoyed it so we tried to focus on that.
